NBBI is the worldwide leader in pressure equipment safety. Established in 1919, NBBI's mission is to improve the safety of people and property through the standardization of practices for the construction, installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection of pressure equipment. The NBIC, NBBI's flagship publication, is a globally recognized standard that governs and updates the rules for the installation, inspection, repair, and modification of pressure equipment. NBBI is incorporated into the legislation of most U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions and serves as the basis for NBBI's four accreditation programs: R, VR, NR, and T/O. Many repair organizations in more than 60 countries, which also use the ASME BPVC Code, utilize NBIC to perform repairs on pressure equipment.​
