This guide defines the interface between a smart meter and a data transmission unit, including an interface model, frame structure, information field, and signaling. This guide applies to the design, manufacture and integration of field devices with data transfer function. Field devices include but are not limited to smart meters, data acquisition terminals, sensors, etc.
