IEEE Draft Standard for Data Framework for Autonomous Driving
Summary
New IEEE Standard - Active - Draft.
A data-related architecture for an autonomous driving system, including architectural components, interfaces, transmission protocols and connection protocols, to support interoperability and improve reliability is specified by this standard. Efficiency-related evaluation metrics for an autonomous driving system, including perception and decision accuracy, processing latency, and the energy consumption of sensors and computing units, are also defined. A common framework for the development, evaluation, and deployment of an autonomous driving system is also provided.
This standard defines a data-related architecture for highly efficient autonomous driving systems. The architectural components, interfaces, transmission protocols and connection protocols are specified. Definitions of efficiency for autonomous driving systems are provided, including metrics for accuracy of perception and decision-making, the latency of the required computations, as well as the energy consumption of the sensors and computing units.
