This guide proposes an online method for evaluating the operating errors of electricity meters in evaluation units with a tree topology. Grounded in the law of conservation of energy, the method leverages big data analytics on energy consumption data derived from synchronized, time-stamped readings collected from root and branch meters. A typical evaluation unit, such as a station area (a low-voltage distribution area), provides daily frozen readings (i.e., time-synchronized, end-of-day values) that serve as the specified synchronized data. This approach enables the continuous online assessment of meter performance, enhancing the reliability of energy measurement.
This guide describes sources of operating errors of electricity meters. The guide specifies a method to evaluate the operating error of electricity meters including data acquisition, data cleaning and processing, data modeling and alignment, online evaluation and result determination. This guide applies to online evaluation of operating errors for all operational single-phase and three-phase electronic AC electricity meters operating on the grid.
The method for evaluating the operating error of the electricity meters proposed in this guide is mainly applied to the daily frozen indication value and file data of the electricity meters. Based on the law of conservation of energy, using the station area as a unit, combined with big data analysis technology to establish a remote diagnosis analysis model for the operation error of the electricity meters, it can quickly complete the calculation of the operation error of the electricity meters running on the grid without power failure, and realize the online monitoring and accurate judgment of the electricity meters status.
