Doc 9906 has been assembled to provide guidance in attaining the stringent requirements for quality assurance in the flight procedure design process.
This volume provides guidance for conducting validation of instrument flight procedures and establishing flight validation process competency and training. The purpose of validation is to obtain a qualitative assessment of the procedure design including obstacle, terrain and navigation data, and provide an assessment of the flyability of the procedure. Validation is the final quality assurance step in the instrument flight procedure process and is essential before the procedure design documentation is submitted to the State authority for approval.
