Preface This is the sixth edition of CSA O153, Poplar plywood . It supersedes the previous editions published in 2019, 2013, 1980, 1976, and 1963. This Standard specifies an in-plant production and quality control system that includes auditing and control by a recognized certification body if applicable. It also provides a mechanism for the specification, quality control, and allows the use of alternative overlay systems. The following are the major changes to this edition: a) update of some reference publications; b) removal of reference to moisture content under Clauses 6.1.1and 6.2.1; and c) change to moisture content under Clause 8.1. This Standard was prepared by the Technical Committee on Wood-Based Panels, under the Strategic Steering Committee on Construction and Civil Infrastructure, and has been formally approved by the Technical Committee. This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group. Notes accompanying clauses do not include requirements or alternative requirements; the purpose of a note accompanying a clause is to separate from the text explanatory or informative material. Notes to tables and figures are considered part of the table or figure and may be written as requirements. Annexes are designated normative (mandatory) or informative (non-mandatory) to define their application.
