Preface This is the second edition of CSA Standard CAN/CSA-C68.1 (previously C68.1), Specifications for Impregnated Paper-Insulated Metallic-Sheathed Cable, Solid Type . It supersedes the 1965 edition entitled Paper Insulated Power Cable "Solid" Type. This Standard is an adoption of the identically titled Association of Edison Illuminating Companies Specification CS1-90. Publication of this CSA Standard was made possible with the expressed permission of the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies. This Standard was reviewed and adopted by the Technical Committee on Insulated Power Cables under the jurisdiction of the Standards Steering Committee on Electrical Engineering. It has been approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada.  Scope and Purpose 1.0.1 These specifications apply to impregnated paper-insulated, metallic-sheathed cable of the "solid" type which is to be used for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy on electric utility systems. 1.0.2 The purpose of these specifications is to insure the furnishing of cable of high quality.
