Standard Specification for Decorative Enamels on Flat Glass

Summary

1.1 This specification covers the aesthetic quality requirements for decorative enamels applied to flat glass for use in building glazing.

1.2 This specification covers the requirements for flat glass, with either organic or ceramic enamels applied.

1.2.1 Glass may be annealed, heat-strengthened, or tempered.

1.2.2 Glass may be monolithic or laminated.

1.2.3 Glass may be cut, drilled, curved or otherwise reshaped after decorative coating application.

1.3 This specification does not cover hard or soft coats applied for non-decorative purposes. Refer to Specification C1376 for pyrolitic and vacuum deposition coating for these products.

1.4 Application methods of the enamels may be spray, roll-coat, curtain coat, screen-print, digital print, or other methods.

1.5 The dimensional values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The units given in parentheses are for information only.
