Requirements and boundary conditions for the use of X-ray computed tomography in the automotive industry

144,00 €

Detalles

X-ray computed tomography (CT) has proven to be a particularly powerful, non-destructive testing method in industry. Standardization efforts have so far focused on individual system components or special operating conditions. This version is the first revision of the original version from 09.11.2017.

The aim of this leaflet is to present the current technical state of CT with special consideration of the framework conditions in industry and to provide industrial users with a guideline for everyday use.

Basic knowledge of X-ray technology and computed tomography is required. Reference is made to valid regulations in Annex F.

It should be borne in mind that CT is a test method that is suitable for referencing if quantitative quality-relevant functional variables (test characteristics, such as material feeders or wall thickness) are to be determined. The responsibility for the suitability of the equipment used, a professional implementation and the quality statements made lie exclusively with the CT operator. Equipment manufacturers or certification bodies cannot release the operator from his responsibility
