This VDA material sheet is a work instruction for the declaration of substances in components and materials for the automotive industry with the help of material data sheets. The legal basis and the basic processes are described in the procedural instruction in the VDA Volume 2 “Quality in the Automotive Industry – Securing the Quality of Supplies”.
The scope of the material data sheet basically extends to the products that are installed by automobile manufacturers in their vehicles, as well as to original spare parts and accessories that automobile manufacturers place on the market. Products that do not remain in the vehicle when handed over to the end customer, e.g. process materials, transport protection, packaging mate-rials, do not fall under the scope.
