The International Union of Railways (UIC) is the worldwide organization for the promotion of rail transport at a global level and collaborative development of the railway system.
The UIC plays an important role in the standardization of the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the services that the railways provide. In order to keep pace with the march of innovation and development, the UIC is constantly seeking to improve the standardization processes.
UIC’s mission is to promote rail transport at world level with the objective of optimally meeting current and future challenges of mobility and sustainable development. |
