IAPMO IGC 305-2019(a) covers backwater valves intended for use in horizontal pipe runs (e.g., to floor drains, sewers, and holding tanks) and equipped with a moving sealing element that can be removed with a lifting device, and (iii) having an overall length of the access structure that may be more than 600 mm (24 in) from the access opening, and (b) specifies requirements for materials, physical characteristics, performance testing, and markings. Note: Horizontal backwater valves covered by this standard are classified in CSA B181.0 as Type IV backwater valves.
