The French design and construction rules for mechanical components of PWR nuclear Islands (RCC-M) primarily apply to safety class components.
This Code is used as a basis for contractual relations between Client and Supplier, in which case it shall be accompanied by a list of components to which the RCC-M applies.
The rules given in the RCC-M draw on the achievements of development work undertaken in France and world-wide having resulted in French industrial practice.
The rules for fabrication and examination given in the RCC-M are a description of current practice in the French nuclear industry based on its own nuclear and industrial experience.
