Wireless communication in industrial automation helps to make manufacturing processes more cost-effective and flexible, and enables the implementation of new automation concepts. Compared to applications at home and at the office, automation applications generally have much higher requirements for the reliability and timing of radio communication. This standard classifies the topic of coexistence of industrial radio systems, describes the basic approach to coexistence management, makes recommendations for action, and provides some details on how to carry out the coexistence management process. This helps to identify the possible risks through coexistence management and, depending on the requirements of the automation technology application, to derive measures to control them.
