With ratio radiation thermometers, the temperature is determined by measuring and creating the ratio of the radiance in two wavelength ranges. In VDI/VDE 3511 Part 4, basic instructions are given for performing the temperature measurements with radiation temperature measuring instruments in an advantageous way.
