The volumes 07.01 and 07.02 present 344 Textile standards covering characteristics, properties, nomenclature and uses of textiles. These tests, practices and specifications cover:

• Clothing and fabrics
• Care labeling
• Chemical conditioning and performance
• Cotton, thread, fibers, wool and felt
• Flammability and fire resistance

• Fiberglass
• Home furnishings
• Inflatable restraints
• Pile flooring
• Sub-assemblies, such as zippers, hooks and loops
• Tire cord and fabrics

 

 

The volume 07.02 also contains standard body measurement tables used for sizing clothing for men, women, children and infants; standard guidelines for care labeling of clothing and other textile products; standards for UV protective fabrics and clothing; and a practice for stitches and seams, which replaced the federal standard for stitch and seam structures of finished articles of clothing used by government and textile industry organizations around the world.
