Details

Modeling and analysis of systems robustness is of interest to researchers and practitioners for several reasons. It minimizes product development time, warranty costs, and improves product quality. The problem of system robustness has not been addressed formally as design teams have usually been concerned with designing system components independent to each other. In this paper, a framework based on system modeling, integration analysis, and quality engineering techniques, for development of robust systems is presented. System modeling is used to represent system structure and identify required physical interfaces among system components. Once interfaces among system components are identified, a component-component interaction matrix of interfaces is developed. Integration analysis is used to group system components into subsystems and identify interfaces between subsystems. Robust desig
