The wire electric discharge machining (WEDM) is an effective and economical technique for the production of different parts, even when using early WEDM machines which do not use high dielectric flushing pressure. The paper analyses the mathematical models of machining feed rate in WEDM known at present in the world. The matrix mathematical model experiment is presented through the Taguchi method and used in practice. Unlike the calculus relations, the model, besides the electric parameters (pulse on time, pulse off time, peak current), takes into account the parameters of the mechanical regime (wire feed speed, axial wire tensioning) that influence the dielectric circulation by means of the spark gap when using low flushing pressure.
