Details

Grid Matrix is a geometrically square, variable size two dimensional matrix symbology.

The symbol consists of an array of square blocks called macromodules, each with its own dark or light frame. Dark- and light-framed macromodules alternate throughout the symbol forming a grid which acts as a finder pattern, with dark-framed macromodules at the corners and the center, giving the symbol strong recognition ability.

Combining this unique distributed finder pattern with Reed-Solomon error correction, Grid Matrix symbols can be recognized and decoded starting in any part of the symbol, so regional damage will not tend to cause reading failure.
