This specification, and the associated CG4110, provides the GM requirements regarding substances whose use in materials and components have been identified by one or more governing bodies as being a potential risk to human health or the environment, has been identified as conflict or critical minerals, is subject to current or anticipated regulatory restrictions, and/or includes raw or recycled materials.
The purpose of this specification is to facilitate compliance with current and future substance-related regulations. This standard does not supercede the responsibility of suppliers to comply with all laws and regulations.
Global Automotive Declarable Substance List (GADSL).
The GADSL is incorporated into this specification and CG4110, by reference. The GADSL is the result of a global effort of representatives from automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), automotive parts suppliers (tier suppliers) and chemical/plastics industries who have organized the Global Automotive Stakeholders Group (GASG). The GADSL only covers substances that are expected to be present in a material or part that remains in a vehicle at point of sale.
European Critical Raw Materials List. The European Critical Raw Materials List is incorporated into this specification and CG4110, by reference. This list resides on the IMDS public website.
